Alagaësia
Alagaësia is a fictional world and the setting of Christopher Paolini’s Inheritance Cycle.
The world is shared between humans, elves, dwarves, urgal and dragons. Dragons are on the verge of extinction and elves have retreated to their realm of Du Weldenvarden. Also some other mysterious creatures can be found in the works, such as the Ra’zak.
Most of the world in dominated by Galbatorix, an evil Dragon Rider of great power. He governs most of humans and is allied with the urgal, but is opposed to the secret of the Varden and the other races.
Elves
The elves of Alagaësia as quite similar to the elves of many other works of high fantasy. They are said to be much more powerful than humans, both physically and due to their magic. They appear similar to humans, but with pale skin, pointed ears and thin, but muscular body.
The elves live in the forest realm of Du Weldenvarden and are naturally magical, wielding magic with ease. They often use it to transform their appearance and make life easier. Their lifespan is either very long or they are immortal.
Dwarves
The dwarves of Alagaësia live in Beor Mountains, where they have lived for several millenia. They are short, strong humanoids with long hair. A peculiar detail is that they have seven toes in each foot.
The lifespan of the dwarves is also very long, but they are not immortal. They live in clans, but are governed by a king. The king is chosen by the clan chiefs of each clan.
Dragons
Dragons are immortal beings that have lived in Alagaësia for a very long time, but are now on the verge of extinction. They have thick scales, lay eggs and can fly. They are huge magical creatures, but their magic is different than that of the other races.
I think I would rather be an elf, so I could have magic abilities, and good swordmanship abilities aswell,

I’d be a dragon, a wild one, and find a Glaedr-like dragon who’d tutor me in dragon ways, then I’d go around Alagaesia, Surda and everywhere else shown on the series map being a classic European dragon, burning villages and taking fair damsels to my lair in the mountains as bait for knights, who come, and then I kill them and build a collection of gold and armour and stuff. That would be the most TOTALLY AWESOME lifestyle.
