100 Days to Go
As can be seen from the counter on the right, there are only 100 days of waiting left! Brisingr will be released on September 20th. With the long wait since the last book, I’m sure we’re all anxious to get our hands on the next one.

1)Brom is Eragon’s father.
2)Eragon will receive Brom’s old sword from the Elven family related to Linnea (the Elf who sang herself into the MENOA TREE, hence ROOTS meaning family lineage) as his INHERITANCE.
3)The only rocks that Kuthain could be are Helgrind and that floating crystal mentioned in ELDEST. However, IF it is Helgrind, then Galbatorix could have discovered some hidden magic that allows him to draw power from the people killed by the Ra’zac, making Helgrind a doubly suitable place for them to be. Also, when Eragon finds the actual place where those souls are accessed (the VAULT OF SOULS) he will speak his name and open that Vault, significantly weakening Galbatorix AND Murtagh, who has also benefitted from this power. However this will probably not occur til book 4 AND Galbatorix still has had hundreds of years of experience and could still defeat Eragon.
4)The new Rider cannot be Roran, he loves Katrina.
5)The new Rider could not be Orik because the binding spell would have to be altered once more, which would remove the focus of energy from fighting Galbatorix and would thus be a terrible battle strategy. The elves would not be so foolish.
6)The new Rider could be Nasuada; but it seems most likely that she will be the character who dies. It would force Eragon to mature even more and take responsibility for the fate of not only the Varden but of the entire realm of Alagaesia.
7)The new Rider will probably be Arya. I know that the idea has been bantered about, but she CANNOT die! As the daughter of the Queen and one of the strongest spellcasters spoken of in the series so far (She BROKE the Star Sapphire, which was “nearly twenty yards across and nearly as thick, and then STOPPED ALL OF THE PIECES FROM HITTING THE FLOOR AND KILLING ERAGON!!) it seems highly unlikely that she would be killed, she is needed too badly.
NOTE: I am only expressing what seems from the books to be the most logical, and yet so captivating, theories and how they might play out.
July 9th, 2008 at 4:56 pmCP announced that the subtitle of Brisingr is “The Seven Promises of Eragon Shadeslayer and Saphira Brightscales.” (see Alagaesia.com) I will list some of what I think will be those promises.
1)Obviously, their promise to return to Ellesmera to complete his training as a Rider.
2)Eragon’s promise to Elva to remove her curse.
3)Saphira’s promise to Hrothgar, and all the dwarves, to restore the former glory of Isidar Mithrim, the Star Sapphire.
?4) Eragon’s promise of fealty to Nasuada.
?5) Eragon’s promise to “place the welfare of those underneath [him] before all else” to Nasuada.
?6)Eragon’s promise to Saphira to journey to the mountains of the dragons in the Hadarac Desert.
AND the cliffhanger from ELDEST:
7) Eragon’s promise to Roran to “find the Ra’zac, rescue Katrina and avenge our father!”

July 11th, 2008 at 6:23 pmOMG, got to be the best trilogy ever. I’ve read loads but this one has so many cliff hangers that the next two books are gonna be f-ing fantastic. Paolini might receive a few death threats if he doesn’t get the book out on time!!!

i think its going to be roran but ya ut be funny for a dwarf to be it

The dragon rider can’t BE a dwarf, because if you’ve read Eldest, the dwarves mention that they hate flying and have detached themselves from the other “people” because they don’t have a, like, “Drago-rider ceremony” where each dwarf touches the egg.
August 13th, 2008 at 11:38 pmOMG ITS ONLY 36 DAYS LEFT! IT TAKES FOREVER! Thank god I already ordered the book. I can’t wait till it arrives *mutters darkly and insanely while rocking back and forth about books taking too long and how death threats are fun and how harry potter is the devil* (I threw in the harry potter just for fun although I read all the books). I am soooooo impatient. OH yea and the guy who said the rider can’t be a dwarf is wrong. They do hate flying and they normally don’t touch a dragon egg but what if a dwarf picks it up to take it back to safety and it hatches in his hand. Hello! There are so many ways a dwarf could become a rider. Although unlikely the people were talking about how funny it would be if a rider was a dwarf…not that a dwarf would become a rider. Differentiate between the two.

In the Eragon Newsletter of March 2006, Paolini writes near the end that the book is “coming along nicely” and that he has a battle to write.
In March 2005, Christopher Paolini was interviewed by shurtugal.com and he revealed the following information:[8][9]
At the end of Eldest, the Varden still favor Nasuada in terms of leadership, but Paolini has hinted that in the third book, this might change.
Paolini also mentioned that in the third book it will be revealed if Saphira ever finds a mate.
More information about Tornac (Murtagh’s old friend and trainer) will be revealed.
Elva, along with “every other character”, will have an important role to play.
Paolini answered some questions for his fans on his official site in July and August 2006[10] and gave a video interview in December 2006 to promote the movie.[11]
It is unclear how Thorn, Murtagh’s dragon, matured to rival Saphira despite their age difference, but Christopher Paolini has stated that it will be revealed in the coming book.
The nature of the spirits that sorcerers summon will be revealed; already it has been stated that they are not the souls of sentient creatures returned from the afterlife.
According to Eldest, Eragon and Saphira have given their oath to return to the elves for further training as dragon and rider.
In February 2007, Paolini answered an Open Letter of the Czech fan site Alagaesia.net and Eragon1.net. He answered the following questions regarding the third book of the Inheritance Cycle (before it was split into two books):[12]
Information about Brom’s lover (referred to by Angela) will be revealed.
Eragon has yet to acquire the new weapon referred to in the first book, wherein Solembum said, “When the time comes and you need a weapon, look under the roots of the Menoa tree”.
Eragon has yet to visit the Vault of Souls and speak his name, as instructed by Solembum as a continuation of the above command; “Then, when all seems lost and your power is insufficient, go to the rock of Kuthian and speak your name to open the Vault of Souls”.

In March 2008, a spoiler was released on the cycle’s homepage Alagaësia.com, stating that “In Brisingr, Eragon will meet a god.”[13]
In May 2008, a second spoiler was released saying that, “Eragon will meet a terrifying new enemy; one who likes to laugh a lot, but not in a good way”.[14]
In July 2008, a third and final spoiler was released on Alagaesia.com, stating that “In Brisingr, one of the characters will become pregnant”.
