In BRISINGR, the next book of the Inheritance cycle, Eragon will meet a god.
Not many gods have been mentioned in Eragon or Eldest. It is mostly one of the dwarven gods that would seem possible. But which one? Any thoughts?
could be Helzvog because he the most revered god in Eragon cycle and he made all the races so its definately a possibility

June 2nd, 2008 at 8:14 pmObviously it won’t be any elven gods as they believe in none. This leaves only human and dwarven gods as the only viable possibilites. Where does the book mention gods who created the dragons? I can’t recall nor can I find any such remark from the book.

June 11th, 2008 at 10:59 amwhen i first seen these books i thought yah right, watched the movie then i was hooked, red eragon and eldest and was sadly disapointed on how far the movie diferentiated from the book, if they had made the movie more like the book well needless to say it would have smashed expectations, i was starting to get depressed upon learning that there was only one more book being written in this series, but alas the good sir kindly exceded expectations again. THANK YOU the only thing that i wish is that i would have caught on to the books a little later so i could read all 4 back to back.

It is unlikely that CP would put a god in his new book since he is atheist (he has criticized for putting his views in his book before and unlikely that he would change that fact)
most likely this god is not a god at all, but some clever form of wordplay or something of the like

June 22nd, 2008 at 11:50 pmErr…. it could also be that he doesnt MEET a god actually….it could just be his encounter with galbatorix, and that dumb old guy (read: twisted villian aka galbatoblahwatever) has stuffed himself with the notion that he is a god. Tt could just mean galbatorix playing up as a god saying that he has reached another level of enlightenment and that his powers are wayscaled than they could ever have though and that refusing his allegiance will mean sure pawnage(death) to eragon…. n thus eragaon meets another blow to his self esteem (read: how he got wooped by murtagh -_-)

I think we should try to stick within the plot parameters of the last 2 books. we know that galbatorix, though he is immortal as a rider, is unnaturally powerful, we know eregon needs a weapon, and we know that both solembum and angela fortold his future. I find it unlikely to be an actual classically defined GOD, since the elves are almost never wrong and they dont believe in them. I think that the same place that Galbatorix gets his power, perhaps some source of the “WILD MAGIC” oromis mentions during eregon’s training, or perhaps the place Solembum suggested.
that leaves these options logically: The menoa tree (perhaps viewed as a forest or nature god, also ties in with prophecy plot), the vault of souls (probably that well of wild magic in the beors that oromis mentions, could be source of galbatorix’ power).
whatever the answer is, i think we can be sure that this “GOD” is likely an obscure manifestation of pure magic, since in the previous book oromis hinted and even explained that magic is a vast, mysterious, and infinitely powerful force. That sounds pretty golike to me. thoughts?

the vault of souls is a possibility, and the spirits shades summon could have something to do with it, thogh oromis said that they arent souls of dead people leading me to believe they are an entirely new race.
i think the way galbatorix gets insanely powerful might tie into it somehow, hope to find out in brisingr!! oromis said he would tell eragon when he came back to ellesmerra.
also while galbatorix might profess himself a god, he isnt, he can be stabbed in the head and die like anyone else, the ability to not be stabbed throgh the head (magic…)does not mean he is a god
and if eragon met him it would probly be the end of the inheritance cycle but theres another book after this one…
You guys are all retards. I know what happens. Because I hacked Chris Paolini’s computer. Eragon meets with the elves from Alalea, and then they teach him extremely ancient magic. And then he says that as much as it pains him he has to kill Murtagh.

Well, I think that there might be some sort of good guarding the Vault of Souls, and I don’t think he will “summon” the first Eragon. I believe he will use the Vault to free Murtagh from Galbatorix’s “control”, maybe by finding Murtaghs real name (don’t remember the English word, I read it in Dutch the last time ><. So excuse if I am worng with the name thing ;).) or something alike. But that’s just guessing of course
July 1st, 2008 at 11:13 amYou guys are looking at this all wrong: what is technically considered a god? Basically, I think that perhaps Eragon will be able to contact a ghost (Brom, Eragon 1, or a character who dies later on in Brisinger). Some people would consider that some what of a god.
Maybe God is code for something. G.o.d could be like the varden or someplace across the sea. Lets just say he contacted them. So that would be good because thats a ton of pople to fight Galbatorix. Or maybe they have dragons or kniw how to break Murtagh’s spell.
And since CP likes to use other languages in names who know god could mean something in some language. who knows?…
PS I dubt the elves know everything, cause then they’d know how to beat Galbatorix and Islanzadi would have known that Eragon had been contacted by the cripple who is whole.

you guys are all wrong the god could be someone who eragon is obsessed with meeting just like christians are obsessed with meeting god so the vault of souls could be that he lets selena out and brom then they will find out that brom is not eragon’s dad as the last chat room thingy said they thought would happen as for the third dragon the new rider will be katrina roran’s girlfriend then somehow murtagh will be freed or killed and selena will help the varden it says that a devastating death will occur it will probably be roran hope not but it probably will be i think eragon the movie should be remade eragon and arya will fall in love and orik will be the new dwarf king angela will take over the varden when nassuada dies soo the weapon under the menoa tree is a dragon egg that no one knew was there and solumbum said the thing that is surely shall be two so i think the dragon egg will have two dragons in it under the menoa tree arya and roran will each get one and elain her baby is going to have an important role in the series i believe and to moramon you are a freaking loser if you did hack cp’s computer i’ll hurt you severly he is the coolest person ever don’t mess with him you just said that to get attention anyway the will go back to alalia with the elves when galbotorix infltrates du welden varden and the varden and dwarves will go too they will recruit in the new land and galbotorix will follow the then in the fourth book eragon will fight galby and kill him

i also hav a theory as to y galbatorix nd murtagh r so powerful, i believe that they hav been to the vault of souls nd r absorbing the souls inside the vault taking on their strength, theres evidence of this in the end of eldest when eragon tries probe murtaghs mind, he feels more than 1 conciousness nd is really confused by it
thats how i believe galbatorix is gettin stronger over time by taking in more souls, oromis also mentioned that he knew y galbatorix was gettin stronger
it also explains how murtagh had so much power so quickly, cause he has the strenth of more than one person nd can use there energy

July 5th, 2008 at 9:36 amI read on brisingr.net that CP added a subtitle to the book Brisingr. The subtitle was something like “the seven promises of Eragon and Saphira”. I think that in Brisingr, we will begin to see how all the promises that the duo made start to conflict. I can’t remember all of the promises that they made but this is what I’ve come up with so far:
1-Return to Oromis/Glaedr
2-Help Roran get Katrina/ Kill the Ra’zac
3-Avenge Hrothgar’s death
4-Fix Elva
5-Pledged to Nasuada
6-Pledged to that Dwarf Clan
7-Pledged to the Elves
What do you guys think?

July 5th, 2008 at 10:33 pmguy’s 1st murtagh isn’t that powerful.(besides lifting saphera) he was just getting to the battle when he and eragon started fighting. where as eragon had been fighting all day. that surely tired him out. 2nd your all asuming that the “god” will help eragon. what if he decides to just let the world get on on its own. and maybe he’ll only give a ridle to eragon. CP has done that in every book. had some one important tell eragon a ridle that he doesn’t get until the right time comes.

July 11th, 2008 at 1:25 amok wow all of u guys no shit about eragon. i have read the book 8 times, eragon and eldest and am planning to do the same with brisingr and the new one. i love these books and cannot get enough of them.
first of all mormoad or watever ur an idiot and if u actually did hack CPs cpu i hope u go to jail.
Second of all, i suggest reading the books over again and paying close attention to all of the fortunes eragon is told from: angela, solembum, and blagden.
you can always wait for brisngr to come out but thats to long for me and im seriously bored out of my mind.
My idea for the third and forth book is that after the war eragon of course has many jobs to do. he has to heal Elva and help Roran rescue Katrina he also has to go to ellesmera and prob attend trial for the next dwarf king. he will try to find a way to heal Elva fix the isidar mithrim with saphira, pick the new dwarf king go to ellesmera and find broms lost sword under the menoa tree that matches saphiras blue scales and learn more from oromis and glader which i am guessing are the ones who die in the third or forth book. oromis will tell eragon more secrets and eragon will open the vault of souls and find out tons more of hidden secrets that were kept hidden.
his true father, his true name, that murtagh says that galbortix already knows but that could be he fake name he told durza in Gil’ead.
He will talk and find the grey folk and much more
there is to much eragon must accomplish first before the book must end that is why CP is creating a new book or else one would be to long
i just want my questions answered and could be completely wrong in my hypothesis and i have no doubt that i have forgotten many of the things eragon must accomplish in my comment but all i could do is hope that the forth book takes less time to come out than the third book because i cant wait!!!

i think that Murtagh and Galba-san got their power’s through the vault of Kuthian (vault of souls) is the most plausible of all explanations ‘coz of the way CP describe murtagh’s gay powers (more than 1 consciousness in his mind)… as for God…well, maybe a real god could appear and make the elves eat back their words after all? well, that’s a funny thought, haha! after all, the elves always made others to eat back their words, so i thought twas bout time they get a taste of their own medicine…

August 2nd, 2008 at 1:19 amI am in disbelief that no one has guessed the most logical and obvious answer. The people in Dras Leona worship Helgrind, the mountain. In whatever form or manner by becoming acquainted with the mountain, he is meeting a God. Perhaps there is more significance or just more to the mountain than a block of rock and a hiding place, or perhaps it is simply a very significant location for the history of Alagaesia.

Secondly the gods that created the dragons are Urur and Morgothal. I believe that the only possible god would be Kilf (the goddess of rivers and the sea). This being due to that kilf is the only god that restrained herself, this i believe is saying she is the god of peace or a peaceful god. She will communicate with eragon and tell him something. I dont know what but something.
Although i still believe there will be no god.

August 21st, 2008 at 11:05 pmeragon is suppos to meet a god, cp said so, and someone is supposed to get pregnate, he also said this. but the most con fusing thing of all is that he said someone will die at the start of the next book. the special edition book had a preview chapter neer the start of the book, where roran and eragon go to heilgrind. eragon gets knocked out by the letherblacka - ra’zacs mount. i think either the ra’zac/lethablacka, roran or katrina will die, but thats just my opinion.

I think Saphira will get pregnant, thus becoming the mamma of her race
I do not think Saphira’s mate is Thorn, leaving the green egged dragon to be her baby daddy haha
I don’t think Eragon’s father is Morzan. It might be, but why does Blagden say “Son and father alike, both as blind as bats”? Isn’t that in present tense? Which means his father is probably still alive and completey unaware of who his son is? Selena is definately Eragon and Murtagh’s mommy, but that doesn’t mean they have to have the same dad. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking on my part…
And then there is Blagden’s second quote: “While two may share two,/and one of two is certainly one,/one might be two.” I’ve found many explanations that seem practical, but have concluded that is impossible to know the meaning Paolini placed with it, because I am not him and do not share his thoughs. We cannot know what he meant by it until he reveals so in the next book. However, I do know it’s important because Ayra said if the raven comes to you to tell you something, you better take heed. If you have any sensible thoughts on this, and not just random nonsense, please share!
I also kinda think the “original” Eragon’s dragon, who no one knows the name of, might be the god Paolini is talking about. I mean, Saphira said herself that dragons are the highest powers on earth. And, if no one knows his true name, then no know can control him, and aren’t gods all powerful and all knowing? This dragon could know the name of the Ancient Language and be in control of all magic. Then, ensuring Eragon and Saphira’s victory, he could reveal the name to them. It’s probably too far fetched, but I thought myself clever with this one haaha

September 17th, 2008 at 4:00 pmOk, I just got a burning question in my head. Eragon can absorb power from any living being to assist in his spellcasting. Than why the hell did he not absorb all those birds flying above him when he was fighting with Murtagh. He said there was like hundreds of them. And as I recall he felt slightly refreshed after absorbing the last strength of a dying horse. Would you not just feel instantly refreshed after absorbing 300 perfectly healthy birds?
September 18th, 2008 at 4:24 amAs for Eragon getting more power,, that poor dude just needs to learn more words of the ancient language. Imagine if he knew the words for proton, or hydrogen atom, he could totally cause instant nuclear explosions without even trying.

eragon is sensitive and does not want to take to much energy from others bc thats murder. he only took it from the horse bc the horse was going 2 die ne way. i think eragon should learn the word for the ancient language giving him complete control over the magic. and he should get the word from the vault of souls or the god that he meets
September 19th, 2008 at 4:19 pmThink about it dude the vault of souls…. what are vaults good for? storing things, so its the perfect place for galb to put the last dragon egg and i think that the vault will give him the same strength as murtagh cause remeber how murtagh had many minds in him when eragon fought him… what do the razac do to people they kill… take their souls and most likely put them in a vault…i dont think the vault will actually tell him things however

I read the brisingr ( i own all threeo f the series and here is the truth) galbatorix is powerful becasuse of eldunari which are dragons in thier own heart of hearts which galbatorix forced to help him murtagh is powerful because he has some eldunari. the god that eragon meets is guntera which was the king of dwarf god and oromis and glaeder die .
