SPOILER: More Brisingr Rumors

And now some more rumors and descriptions of the third novel of Inheritance - Brisingr. These are two different versions of a description of the novel on Amazon: one from Amazon.com and the other from Amazon UK.

If you don’t want to be spoiled anything, please stop reading now. Otherwise, feel free to continue.

This is the description from Amazon.com:

Following the colossal battle against the Empire’s warriors on the Burning Plains, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have narrowly escaped with their lives. Still there is more at hand for the Rider and his dragon, as Eragon finds himself bound by a tangle of promises he may not be able to keep.

First is Eragon’s oath to his cousin Roran: to help rescue Roran’s beloved, Katrina, from King Galbatorix’s clutches. But Eragon owes his loyalty to others, too. The Varden are in desperate need of his talents and strength—as are the elves and dwarves. When unrest claims the rebels and danger strikes from every corner, Eragon must make choices— choices that take him across the Empire and beyond, choices that may lead to unimagined sacrifice.

Eragon is the greatest hope to rid the land of tyranny. Can this once-simple farm boy unite the rebel forces and defeat the king?

And then the other, this from Amazon UK:

Forces collide in Book III of the phenomenally successful Inheritance Cycle. Eragon represents the greatest hope for a better Alagaesia. Can this once simple farm boy rise to become a leader who can unite the rebel forces and defeat the King? Following the colossal battle against the Empire’s warriors on the Burning Plains, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have narrowly escaped with their lives. Still there is more at hand for the Rider and his dragon, as Eragon finds himself bound by a tangle of promises he may not be able to keep, including Eragon’s oath to his cousin Roran to help rescue Roran’s beloved, Katrina, from King Galbatorix’s clutches. But Eragon owes his loyalty to others, too. The Varden are in desperate need of his talents and strength, as are the elves and dwarves. When unrest claims the rebels and danger strikes from every corner, Eragon must make choices - choices that take him across the Empire and beyond, choices that may lead to unimagined sacrifice. Conflict, action, adventure and one devastating death await readers as Eragon battles on behalf of the Varden while Galbatorix ruthlessly attempts to crush and twist him to his own purposes.

Rich with a thoughtful examination of Eragon’s maturing psyche, “Brisingr” explores how Eragon must come to terms with his role as a leader and the moral obligations that weigh heavily upon his young shoulders as a Dragon Rider.

The second one includes much more information and can actually be used to project some of the plot of Brisingr. What are your thoughts on these?

    Akiton Says:

I’m basing this off the title for the new book. Somewhere in the cycle, i think in Eragon, they mention something about a person saying water and ending up with a gemstone because they understand the true connection or something. Is it possible that eragon will completely master fire magic in Brisingr?

  2. 2
    Joy Says:

I think brisingr is his true name. Chistopher keeps saying its more important than anyone would know and that seem pretty important to me.

  3. 3
    Dragongirl27 Says:

Its obviously not his real name because then when ever someone said his name, they’d gain control over him in battle. But mabe it reveals something else, maybe it reveals…….I don’t know. But it definently means a great deal of importance for the next book.

  4. 4
    Saphira_the_Sexy Says:

hmmmm… this is a real dilema for us Eragon lovers. my personal opinion is that brisingr is his element and he can control it better than anything else. as for the water+gemstone bit. it could be that Eragon could have fire come to his aid… its a real dilema and i guess we wont know for sure until we get to read the book. i for one cant wait until its released. then the wait for the end will be over… it has been a tremendous journey and an epic and exciting one. i hope u guyes and gyals feel the same.

  5. 5
    Joy Says:

well i still think it could be his true name. Don’t they always talk about how you can say one thing and mean something else? Maybe you have to mean it as his name ans to control him.

  6. 6
    JohnTheGreat Says:

    Hey ppl :)

I also think Brisingr is really important.
Personally i think its part of his true name but there has to be more:

maybe somthing like “Controller of Fire”
    or
“Fire Warrior” or something else but im pretty sure it has something to do with Brisingr

If u guys have ideas say’em!

    NJ Sallo Says:

I just had a thought. it kind of stems from the water gemstone thing. After saying fire, perhaps one can create a dragon and the other rumor says eragon will meet a god. What if he meets the god of wind, Eragon can make the fire and they can create a dragon. It’s just a thought. Probably a dumb one just putting in my two cents

  8. 8
    Hunter Says:

My thought is that maybe he learns to pull energy from fire because somewhere in Eldest (I couldn’t find it) it says that theoreticaly you should be able pull the energy from fire, wind and water. That’s what i think will happen

  9. 9
    dougms Says:

Oromis says that gravity, fire, light and electricity are the most powerful forces of nature. on page 541 of eldest, Eragon asks if he could draw energy from “…light or fire…” So, a few possibilities,
    1. he could become extremely powerful in fire. (mastery)
    2. he could learn to draw power from fire, (although if he did that, he would
have to die, as he would gain super-human powers) it seems unlikely,
though unless he discovers it at the last minute while fighting Galbatorix.
    3. he could meet the god of fire, who grants him mastery.
    4. he could gain mastery in the vault of souls.
    5. the ‘weapon’ under the menoa tree could be Eragon’s (the originals)
sword. and as they have names, the sword could be named brisingr.

  10. 10
    Pranjal Says:

Maybe the god is actually the one who galbatorix might have already met and learnt the secrets of power and now eragon will do the same.

  11. 11
    Travis Says:

i personally have to agree with the sword being named brisingr. although some think Eragon has already received the weapon under the menoa tree

  12. 12
    Karan Says:

    Hello ppl.

Personnally, I think it goes as such:
insofar, elves “have never seen a miracle” (said as such in the book) and the dwarves cannot actually prove substantially as to the existence of their gods. However, we DO know spirits exist! CP has given us two information: that Eragon would “meet a god” and that he would “encounter a terrible enemy [...] he likes to laugh a lot, and not in a good way”. Something makes me think that the two spoilers are linked, and the word “god” is not used in its’ litteral sense, and that CP is actually referring to a monstrously powerful spirit. What eragon would encounter could then be quite possibly some sort of shade or similar creature.

  13. 13
    Joy Says:

this doesn’t really have any thing to do with what we’re talking about but do you think brom could be eragons father. I have reasons. For instance he went to carvahal to hide everyone thinks its because eragon is morzan’s son and brom is watching him but what if its because hes broms son. Also in Eragon eragon asks brom about selena and he says he knew her well enough to miss her when she was gone. Mabye he loved her. Also angela she he loved someone but that was her downfall. Mabye selna got pregnat with brom and then she died trying to protect her baby to be. Its alot but i just want to know what you guys think.

  14. 14
    robbo Says:

i have read your ideas and have constructed a theory about the green dragon. first of all it could have been arya that stole saphiras egg and in process managed to rescue the green dragon egg as well. arya could have had the green one hatched to her as her eyes are green and eragon found a green dragon shell in elesmera. brom said that galbortirix has 2 eggs and thorn has hatched so it could mean that he has no more or that there is another other than greeni.

  15. 15
    robbo Says:

as for brisingr it could mean that it is the gods name or the gos might not be a god but a fire spirit perhaps. it could even be eragons new blade as eragons fire is blue and fire could be blue not red.

  16. 16
    robbo Says:

roots of the monoa tree could mean that there might be broms old blade in there or it could be like a history roots. rocks of kuthian and the vault of souls i believe is in the helgrind or is the helgrind. the vault of souls is the way i believe that shades get their powers from.

  17. 17
    robbo Says:

arya and eragon. as i posted before arya might be greeni’s rider. so when eragon slays galbortorix(yes i do believe he would) i believe that this makes eragon up high in the ranks of elves therefore making him socially able to mate with arya and perhaps become the first elf couple to marry.

  18. 18
    robbo Says:

Roran and Katrina. In the first book when Angela gave Eragon his fortune telling she said that he would leave Alagaesia and never return. Also when Eragon and Saphira had an meeting whith hrothgar in Farthen Dur eragon said that if he overthrew galbortorix he would not become king. so therefore i believe that roran will become king. he has led carvahall into the spine and into surda defying galbotorix in his wake. i dont believe nasuada will become queen as i belive she will be killed in the third book either by galbortorix or muhrtag.

  19. 19
    Brightscales Says:

Okay here goes: Regarding the green dragon, I think that the green dragon has already hatched… In Eldest Eragon steps upon a “shard of green dragon egg”. The major character most likely to die is either glaeder or oromis due to the depiction of glaeder on the cover. Due to the title “Brisingr”, I think that either:
    1) Brisingr either be or be part of Eragon’s true name
    2) Brisingr will be the name of Eragon’s sword, which will be found in the ancesteral roots of the menoa tree
    3) Eragon will learn to draw power from fire
    4) Eragon will become a true master of fire (ability to say fire and cause something completely different to happen)
    5) ???

Galbatorix shall not be defeated in Brisingr. Murtagh will be a dangerously treacherous enemy for the Varden, he may betray Nasuada directly…

If anyone has any other theories post them here or on my website’s inheritance page :D

  21. 21
    Karan Says:

I have seen several times (and not only on this site) the theory that the green dragon already hatched, with support from the quote “shard of green dragon egg”! Now honestly, people, that’s absurd! Eragon did so at the stone of broken eggs, in Du Wendelvarden and I doubt galbatorix will have hidden it there… he can’t in any case!! And scenaristically, it would be a MESS!!! So I think it goes thus:
The next rider has been announced by Paolini (I saw an interview somewhere) as someone completely unexpected… so I think Arya can be ruled out, she’s just too obvious a candidate… Having studied Eragon’s first vision after he dragged Garrow from the farm (that vision with a couple goin’ in a boat & two dragons overhead and all that), I think the man in the couple is Eragon. The woman is then his true love, possibly the new rider. So the new rider has a good chance of being a she! It would also mean that Eragon will not end up with Arya but realize his heart lies elswhere (that’d be cool, Arya pisses me off BAD)

  22. 22
    a guy Says:

think that roran will be the rider of the green dragon. its just a thought

  23. 23
    Joy Says:

there are only three dragoons and in eragons premonition its a girl

  24. 24
    Another Guy Says:

Ok one thing i have to say supporting the Brom is Eragon’s father theory is that it not only sais that Brom missed Eragons mom but it also said that Brom was jealous of or wanted everything Morzan had. Something along those lines at least. I think that includes his woman. My other thought is that Angela either was a rider, which is how she seems to know so much and is acompanied by a wiercat, or she will be a rider. She has always struck me as more important than she at first seems…

  25. 25
    Dragongirl27 Says:

Angela is pretty important. Guys…don’t forget that Saphira still has to reveal things to eragon. She can keep secrets very well. SHe knew brom was a rider…she knows many things. What secrets can e in store for eragon?
When eragon is without weapon…hmm…look under the roots of the meoa tree…I agree with brightscales on this one. Brisingr could be the name of the sword. The “weapon” is probably broms because his is the only blue (saphire) Sword left…and your swrod should be colour as your dragon. And if Brom IS eragons father…its rightfully eragons..it his inheritance…If it is brom sword…and if eragon kills murtagh….he’ll be like his father (if brom id=s his father) who killed morzan…murtaghs father..(and apparently eragons)

thats what I think…see ya later.
    Dragongirl

  26. 26
    Dragongirl27 Says:

The whole thing is about inheritance. The Inheritance cycle…..murtaghs inheritance…eragons inheritance…roran and nasuadas …..yep

  27. 27
    Morningstar Shineing Says:

All of your theories are really good!
I believe Brisingr to be the name of his new ‘Wepon’ or a part of his true name
I dont think that Brom could be his father because Murtagh said they looked like each other and i dont think Morzan would of let brom near eragons mother! I beleieve the new rider will be a girl but not Ayra beacsue shes to ovious and she pisses me off(no offence)maybe a new character or Angela ! I also beleive that murtagh wiil play a big part and i think that he will find a way to release him self from the King G. I believe that Eragon will continue to lover ayra or maybe the new rider but the new rider will have to be a princess maybe the new rider will love murtagh,
I think Rowan will be king beacsuse he has royal bllod and is human I hope he is going to be king at least

    I cant wait untill Brisinger

  28. 28
    eragon fan Says:

I think Brisingr is really important it was the first thing he did with magic and the way he discovered magic. I think if the green egg had hatched to Arya we would know about it because it would be rather hard to hide a a dragon especially with both the varden and empire so eager to get the new riders on their side. And I think there might- keep in mind this is a theory and a hope- be other dragons out there, wild dragons most likely in the hadarac desert because it’s so vast and Saphira really liked it there, it’s very far fetched but there is a possibility. I think the idea of brom being eragon’s father is awesome but I’m sad because Murtagh and eragon make such good brothers.

  29. 29
    Thorn Says:

I believe that Brom is Eragon’s father for three reasons. One: When Earagon’s mother left murtagh I believe it was to see Brom. I believe that they were in love and that she had Brom’s child. It didn’t say for sure how long she was gone. Two: Blagden tells eragon that he is as blind as his father. Morzan may have been evil but he definetly wasn’t blind. He was cunning. However brom was blind in his worship of Morzan and failed at many of his tasks. Three: Blagden says to Eragon “While two may be two, and one is certainly one, one may be two” I think that it mean that while two brothers may be two brothers (Murtagh and Eragon) and one mother may be one mother (Salina) one father may be two fathers (Morzan and Brom) Chew on that and let me know what you think.

  30. 30
    Joy Says:

the riddle thing with Blagden was another one of the reasons i thought brom was eragons father i just thought my thing was getting a little long so i didn’t write it down. :)

  31. 31
    Saint Pandora Says:

What about little freak girl with the varden? I bet she has something important to do. maybe sacrifice herself for something big. And what about….king orrin? king ofthe southern place, crap its been so long. anyway he might be a canidate for king.

  32. 32
    Joy Says:

well eragon is sapossed to reverse his “blessing” on the little girl. And King Orrin isn’t exactly the best king.

  33. 33
    Nat Says:

Do Not Read if you Dont Want anything SPOiled!

It said in one of the spoilers up top that in the battle in the third book that Eragon represents the sole hope for the good of Alagaesia. Therefore if there is a new rider he/she wont be revealed till after battle OR he/she will be in training or hiding.

Also, i keep hearing people say that Nasuada will die, nothing has happened to make this probable so live in hope people.(not actually what i was gonna say but i forgot)

  34. 34
    Karan Says:

Personnally I am extremely skeptical about Brom being Eragon’s dad! Honestly, maybe the the thing about him and a woman is jsut a mere anecdote of no importance… and of course, there is the one big big detail wich no one seems to have mentioned: when Murthag said that they were brothers, that Morzan was their father, HE SAID IT IN THE ANCIENT LANGUAGE! I strongly believes that puts a dead end to any hope of Brom being Eragons’ father… sorry to be such a killerjoy, but it’s all too logical!

And about Blagdens’ enigma: I think it’s clear that we’re nowhere near to finding what it means than that whole buisness about the rock of Kuthian! So I say lets’ not grow too impatient, people, the whole damn thing will only take on its’ meaning when the time of fulfillment actually come!

  35. 35
    Joy Says:

well Murthag did believe morzan was his father so he could easily still say it. It’s not a lie if he believes it. They talk about that when earagon writes his poem too.

  36. 36
    Lauren Says:

I completely agree that Brom is Eragon’s father. The moment I saw that comment when Brom says he knew Selena in the first book I was like: Brom is SO his father. The whole Murtagh saying Morzan was his father incident in the ancient languge did throw me off a bit BUT I think thats only becuase Murtagh THOUGHT what he was saying was true, as so many people say. The Blagden quote also backs up my theory strongly. Theres a site that has all the details about this riddle (its very CLEVER and has you convinced that Brom MUST be his father).

Brisingr is either a PART of Eragon’s true name OR it is his true essence or somehting like that. I like the theory that the sword under the Menoa tree is Brom’s old sword (which will be blue) and its name (like Za’rock) is Brisingr. Eragon’s nickname (from the Urgals), afterall, is Firesword.

I hope the new rider isn’t Arya. I hate her, she’s so bitter and up herself. It’s too obvious anyway, please I need a SUPRISE. She’s not a good match for Eragon either. I DO want the rider to be female though, too many men in this book. I like Nasuada, can it be her??

Oh, and its PRETTY obvious that the Vault of Souls is the secret to Murtagh’s and Galbotorix’s immence magical ability. The last bit in ELDEST even mentions that the mystery Rider’s (Murtagh’s) mind was full of faint, echoing, lost voices…or something like that, can’t be bothered to find the quote.

Someone before also mentioned that the green egg may have already hatched becuase of the quote in ELDEST that he stepped on the shards of GREEN eggshell. I think its an interesting theory…but it just doesn’t make sense. WHY would the elves or who ever hatched the egg hide this?? Why would it be hatched in the middle of Du Weldenvarden? That would also mean that the Rider must be an elf, and that would be a random character. Seriously annoying that would be.

I can’t think of anything else to say…but I’m liking some of these theories. Anymore???

  37. 37
    darth glaedyr Says:

The new rider is so Katrina’s daughter.
    Let me explain.
Roran and Katrina had sex before she was taken.
Galbatorix uses magic to make the baby grow up quickly, like what happened to Elva only further.
    The egg hatches for her.
Now Eragon faces 3x evil riders, AND one of them is his brother and the other one is his second cousin.
All relatives- ties into Inheritance theme.

PS- I posted this theory on the other chat board as well.

  38. 38
    terrapin19 Says:

brom is eragon’s father, there’s no doubt about it. blagden’s riddle, angela’s telling of selena’s fortune, the little snippets about brom having loved a woman, and failing at everything it all fits in. Also, morzan’s dragon must have been red (zaroc is red), Thorn is red. Brom’s dragon was blue, and named saphira. Inheritance on both counts. as for the weapon under the roots of the menoa tree, i’m not so sure the book is referring to the actual tree, perhaps it means the scroll presented to eragon by oromis with a picture of the tree on it. It could be instructions on finding brom’s sword, or a very powerful spell. The next rider could possibly be Roran. Eragon and Saphira have too much to do before they leave Alagasia for good, it won’t happen in the third book. Murtagh will die, Eragon will have no choice in the matter, and he will be forced to use the weapon found under the tree (on the scroll), and that is when “all seems lost” and he will seek out his name (Brisinger, possibly in combination with more words) and then the vault of souls. Ive read both books three times, and am about to start for a forth time. i dont think i missed anything, but im not sure

  39. 39
    Lauren Says:

OMG. Post number 37 is TOO far-fetched. Really creative I’ll give you that, but unfortunately I seriously doubt that whole scenario. However, I agree that Katrina may be pregnant and that her baby could play an important but the whole using magic to make it grow up and making it the new rider is just….over the top ridiculous. I agree entirely with comment 38, its almost OBVIOUS that Brom is Eragon’s father when you think about it.

I like these predictions. Some of them, like post 37, I’d never even consider!
OK. I need to stop writing down these pointless discussions. Its just that I can’t get over these books lol.
2 months sounds like such a LONG time………hurry up book 3.

  40. 40
    darkdragonqueen Says:

    Hi
i am getting seriously annoyed with the prediction Roran is the new Rider it is conman sense Eragon and Murtage have both inherited the ability being a Rider Murtage gets it from Morsan and Eragon ether Morsan or Brom (Brom most likely) so Roran has no connection to the Riders lines also Eragon sees him and a female Rider going away. So it is more likely to be a female rider but i have read the books 3 times and i cant find anywhere that a female rider has existed if i am wrong tell me were it mentions a female rider but i think that everything will be more complexed than it seems but i cant wait for brisingr

  41. 41
    Murtagh_is_my_favorite Says:

ok i think that murtagh will turn out good in a whole darth vader killing the emporer thing and sacrifice himself for the greater good! i think the theory that brom is eragons dad as ridiculious, cuz it wuld mess it up completely (eragon having to struggle to throw of the legacy of his dad) and i think that the roran wuld be a good king

  42. 42
    beanage Says:

methinks that brisingr is part of eragons name, e.g …………fire or fire of ……., it could be that that he accidentally burns down du weldenvarden hehe, i think we should just wait until the book comes out and discuss the MAIN reason it is called brisingr

  43. 43
    Harry Says:

I dont know exactly what it has to do with the story, Im just surprised that nobody had brought it up. In the first book brom told eragon seven words to use in the ancient language only in great need. I dont know what it could mean, maybe to find out his true name or to gain power, not sure. Ideas?

  44. 44
    Dan Says:

Here are my takes- brisingr is definitely more important than it seems. In book one (pg. 140) it says “‘Brisingr’. The fire flared, and a shiver ran through Eragon. Something about the word made him feel incredibly alive.” I think this is a pretty good indication that brisingr is part of Eragon’s true name. Obviously, brisingr was the first magical word he heard and used and it was the word that earned him his other name- Shadeslayer. He also killed Urgals with it and deflected Thorn’s flames. Eragon mentioned to Oromis in book 2 that Brom told him it was amazing how much he could do with just brisingr so it seems like Eragon will somehow learn to summon the true essence of fire in a short amount of time (relatively- I’m betting book 4).

If you think about it, Brom has to be Eragon’s father. Recall Blagden, the white raven, and his riddles- “Father and son both blind as bats.” And “While two may share two, And one of two is certainly one, One might be two.” Brom befriended and trusted Morzan only to be betrayed and Eragon did the same with Murtagh. The second riddle implies that two sons (Eragon and Murtagh) “may” share the same two parents (Morzan and Selena),
and one parent (Selena) is certainly the mother of both sons, the supposed one father that they shared could be two- Brom and Morzan. Also, Eragon inherited a blue female dragon like Brom and Murtagh a red male dragon like his father. C’mon think about it ppl!

Last thing- I think the green dragon has to be Arya’s. If for no other reason because of Eragon’s vision in book one where two figures are sailing away forever with two dragons flying overhead.

  45. 45
    quick like spiderman Says:

the last dragon cant have hatched yet because mutagh tells eragon the last dragon egg is a male and saphira is the last female of the race, and i dont think the green dragon will hatch until the fourth book becuase it shows a picture of glaedr not the new dragon

  46. 46
    thecrunkteddybear Says:

i think most of these are wrong. alot of you forget that eragon will be in love with royalty. that means it can only be arya or naseuda. if naseuda die though, it may be her successor, possibly a girl dragon rider, that some people think may appear

  47. 47
    Natedawg Says:

From what i’ve gathered, CP says that the new rider will be unexpected, what about Elva?? they said a female and shes young. From what i remember reading in the books, the eggs hatch for children, they talk about shipping the eggs back in forth so all the elf and varden children can try to get it to hatch. So in that theory, ary whose like 100 is ruled out, and Angela i don’t know how old she is, but shes not a child, like elva. In the vision, Elva may be leaving so she doesn’t have to deal with saving other people all of the time, and Eragon is going with her because the dragons have mated.

  48. 48
    rohan Says:

    hmm all dis adds up
1)brisingr is a part of or is eragons true name
    2) the last egg has not hatched
    3) brom is eragons father.
    4) the last rider may or may not be female
    5) the guy crying at the beach in the prenomition eragon had ,is eragon himself
    6) the menoa tree holds broms sword ( though it was broken it may have been repaired)
    7) vault of souls will be given in the n4th book
    8) katrina was kidnaped to lure roran as he could be a canditate for the last egg.
9)i dont know wat u guys have agaisnt arya…but she is eragons lover…n probably she is also leaving on the boat :D

    bwahhaha touche mr paulini

i think that the people that eragon saw in his vision (the one where they were going on a boat)was roran and katrina and its because i think the last egg is in helgrind and one of them will find it and make the race of dragons over

rohan, pretty much everything you said in post 48 is a given. So obvious it doesn’t even warrant putting forward. However, you did have some interesting points. I like the idea that the man screaming on the beach is Eragon. It would be a twist that no-one would expect but would work.
Arya will probably end up falling for Eragon and I will be disappointed because I would rather see her die, but that’s not CP’s way.
The last rider may or may not be female- very, very profound.
Brisingr being part of Eragon’s true name is an interesting, but overly debated and completely stale point. It would not be his exact true name, and if it is part of his true name there will be some other connotation as well- otherwise there’s not enough of a connection.
Yes, the weapon Eragon gets will be Brom’s sword, and yes, Brom is probably his father. Both points have been posted numerous times.
It was already established in the second book why Katrina was kidnapped- the fact that it was Sloan that betrayed her meant that it could not possibly be anything else.
It is likely that the third egg has not hatched, and it is also likely that the third egg will not hatch until book 4.
The vault of souls has to be in book 4, because the sword will be in book 3, and the prophesy was in book 1, and if you introduce something in the first book you have to tie it up in either the first or last book.
And a comment that does not relate to your post- NEITHER ARYA OR RORAN ARE GOING TO BE THE NEXT RIDER!!!! And everyone has put forward ideas surrounding both of them, so if you, out of the blue, say, “I wonder if the next rider will be (insert Roran or Arya’s name here)”, you do not sound intelligent or original, so please refrain.
    It could be:
    Vanir
    Katrina
    Elva
Trianna (although she will most likely become a shade, hence the new laughing villain)
Orik (remember he said it might come as a surprise)
    Some new character

In response to Karen (21), I never once insinuated that the last dragon egg of Galbatorix has hatched. I stated that the GREEN dragon has already hatched. Nowhere in any of the books or interviews with CP has it been said in any way or form that the last dragon egg is green, there is however a hint that there is a green dragon… Now think about this, don’t just say IMPOSSIBLE without using your brain and considering ALL of the many possibilities. Is it not possible that the green dragon (which we have evidence of from interviews etc)may have in fact already hatched? That in fact Galbatorix’s last egg is not the green dragon but a separate factor? Open your eyes and imaginations to ALL possibilities rather than scorning other people’s ideas: especially if you don’t have the imagination or logical skills required to read between the lines and come up with a UNIQUE idea, rather than one you copied from another website or chatroom.

With regards to the “god” situation, I think that one of the characters already there will become a god in some way. How it will happen, i have no idea, but Paolini is an atheist like the elves, and i don’t think he’d want to prove them wrong by revealing a dwarf god. So maybe one of the characters becomes a god, then the elves would still be kinda right. But that’s unlikely.

wouldnt it make sense that if Galbatorix took off the head of the best of the old riders, Vrael, with a sword of flame then Eragon, the best of the new riders, would take off Galbatorix’s head with a sword of flame? it may have absolutely nothing to do with anything, i just thought it was interesting.

replying to Brightscales (54) (I’d just like to clarify and calm things down), sorry if I misinterpreted something or sounded like a huge prat, I sometimes don’t really realise I’m saying crap regarding other people. But don’t get me wrong, A lot of the things people say here, I actually considered them and I even PRAY for some of them to happen (really it would be a very good scenarisctic twister if Brom was Eragons’ dad), but no matter how much I read & reread the book “IN BETWEEN THE LINES” like you say, I just can’t see how some of those rumours could fit… but if I’m proved wrong and somebody got a good guess about what’s going to happen in Brisingr I thought impossible, I’d gladly give him a handshake!

To get back to the subject, about the person that’s going to die at the end of Brisingr as CP hinted, I think it could either be Arya or Elva, because if they die that would be a real and painful blow for Eragon, maybe giving him a personnality shift that will make the fourth book a lot more interesting because with a completely different Eragon. There’s also the likely possibility of Oromis, but personnally I think it would be a pain because it’s in my view simply too easy for a book ending (I mean, he’s ill and weak and a lot of people will excpect him to drop dead soon, so it wouldn’t really be a surprise). I hope CP will impress us on that point

On the other board i said that maybe god stood for something, meant something in another language, or was some dead dude from the books brom, eragon 1, someone who’ll die in brisnger… oh and that god is the name of a land across the sea and they’ll help beat up galbatorix.

in all reality i think that with the way most books work that greeni’s rider will be a minor character. So who are minor character in the books? IU think Vanir is way too vain, and Elva is a bit too… well preocupied. shes like nasuada’s bodygaurd in a weird way.

i think that galbatorix will use katrina as bait for roran and eragon. or if he doesnt know eragon is going with roran he will catch roran. i think that maybe galbatorix will catch eragon, lock him away, then he’ll escape with the last egg. oh and with saphira there he’ll use those words brom gave him to break murtagh, galbatorix dragon, or whoever else might be in there spell.

i agree that brisinger may be his true name. or it may be a word in a spell to do something like summon a god or stuff like that.

what do you eragons new sword will be named. that could be brisinger or whatever. and then the elf who made the riders sword said that she or he i dont remember hat wont make any morwe

    Thomas Says:

If anything, I think the Most likly to occurr Battle of Uru’Baen would last the end of brisgner adn the 4th book. perhaps the battle could begin with a massive urgal attack on the city to weaken Galbatorix, not to mention eliminate the urgals. That would kill two birds with one swipe, as Firestar would say. Then perhaps Oromis and Glaeder would attack galbatorix, weaken him and probably kill themselves. A new rider would probably appear at the mid section and change the battles course, probably arya for the side show romance. Murtagh would most likly not participate, perhaps killing himself with magic and allowing thorn to assist eragons side. The battle will be fierce, all races battling galbatorix. In the end will eragon prevail? Well he will but lets allow you to bumble your crazy minds? Happy summer

i think oramis and his dragon will die. there like ANCIANT and glaedyr is on the over- the7 must plan a hunormous part in it. something like they sacrifice themselves for eragon. like he needs a trememnedous amount of energy so oromis lets himself be drained for energy as he said can be done from the surroundings. something like a spell with brisigner in it… really huge like bring bck the dead or break murtagh’s spell or galbatorix’s dragon’s or summon a god to smoosh galba. that sounds like fun to me…

  66. 66
    Karan Says:

I think is goes as such:
as I said before, everyone is expecting oromis & glaedr to die soon, so I believe that that will just be it… no stupendous death for him in my view… maybe he’ll do like Yoda and die when Eragon comes back, but I don’t think CP wants to make a fuss about what everyone already knows… he seems to want to surprise the readers big time (I pray he will)… he already indicated that the new rider is someone unexpected and that a major character is gonna die… and in my view Oromis is not THAT important!

about that new rider… if it is to be someone COMPLETELY unexpected, here’s the crazyiest possibilities (but viable, that is to say I don’t mention dwarfs for example, it was clearly said that they cannot be riders… unless of course, CP thinks it otherwise halfway through the book):

    -Islanzadi
    -Lord Daethedr
    -Vanir
-Jarsha (I’m particularly convinced on that one, he’s young, inexperienced and with a role almost like wallpaper… it fits d:D )
-Nolfavrell (same arguments as Jarsha, though he is obviously more important)
-A new character we don’t know yet (but with, once again, a role like wallpaper)

hear me out on this one:

    1. Roran is the major character who dies.
    2. Eragon saves Katrina to fulfill his promise to Roran.
    3. Arya is the new Green Dragon Rider.
    4. Even though Arya is Eragon’s true love, Arya already said its not going to happen, so Eragon marries Katrina because both he and Katrina think it’s necessary for Roran’s memory.
    5. Eragon and Katrina are the ones getting on the boat from Eragon’s dream, with Arya already on the boat.
    6. The man on the beach is Murtagh, who is new king of Alagaesia, but hes screaming because Thorn is killed. (maybe not the reason hes screaming, but Thorn dies at some point.)
    7. The two dragons in the sky are Saphira and Aryas Green dragon.

    Raliah Says:

Just something else i would like to add. I really think that Brom is more than an old rider watching Eragon. I thought that as Eragon’s uncle it would fit that he was there to Guard Eragon from the Empire. Also it would fit into the whole Inheritance thing. I think that it is not just Eragon getting the Inheritance. I think that somehow he will inherit Brom’s sword but don’t forget-Saphira inherited her name to. from Broms dragon. Not to mention Murtag and Eragon inheritated their fight. Murtah fights as his father did and Eragon takes up Brom’s place in the circle. But maybe im wrong. I;d like to hear some opinions though oxox

    terrapin19 Says:

it is completely possible that arya already has a dragon (the green one mentioned over and over again by posters and not once in any book). if there is a green dragon, it’s possible that it hatched many years ago on the stone of broken eggs to arya. her eyes and magic are always green. She has extraordinary power, even among the elves, she cares deeply about bringing the dragons back, eragon will be loved by a noblewoman, (nasuada is ruled out because she is not noble, only a chosen rebel leader), arya was the most trusted member of the elves and the varden (elsewise she would not have been the egg courier), she knows this bit of information cannot be revealed to eragon yet because he needs to complete his training. Also, i wonder about the possibility of oromis being gallbatorix’s father. that would explain the whole cripple who is whole thing, and how gallbatorix is increasing in power every day. he’s half elf. the god that eragon will meet is helzvog, the dwarf god of fire, and helzvog will grant him control over fire. the weapon under the roots of the menoa tree is actually eragon’s true name given to him on the scroll by oromis.

  71. 71
    darth glaedyr Says:

    I agree.
In the unlikely event of Arya being the third rider, it is mandatory for the egg to have already hatched. I think Jeod has something to do with it, perhaps long ago he managed to smuggle two eggs out but lost the green one, which Arya found.
It would be funny if the third dragon had already hatched and been eaten by a wind viper, along with the new rider. That would be a surprise, but I somehow think CP’s not that kind of person.
Roran is strong minded but Katrina has him around her finger.

  72. 72
    terrapin19 Says:

darth, i’m not sure i understand…first you say you agree, but you think it unlikely? secondly, how would a third rider being eaten be funny? and how would it have anything to do with the story whatsoever? thirdly, if jeod had managed to smuggle other eggs out, i think he would have shared that little tidbit with someone. maybe you should try reading the books before trying to figure out what happens in the next one.

has anyone considered that arya lost her lover when she was first attacked by durza? i think one of the elves killed in the ambush is the same elf she has a fairth of in her room next to evander’s. I firmly believe Eragon and Arya are going to hook up. So far, she is the only woman of nobility mentioned that we know of. Also, as i stated above, i believe she is or will be the next rider. It could very well be that she doesn’t want to encourage Eragon’s advances, not only so he can focus on his training, but also because she’s not quite over her loss. just a theory, intelligent feedback appreciated. -A

from wikipedia.org: The cover, featuring the gold dragon Glaedr, was illustrated by John Jude Palencar. The content of the cover was one of the few things initially confirmed by Paolini. The cover was to feature an emerald-green dragon looking to the right.[6] However, Paolini later indicated that this was affected by the expansion of the series to a four-book cycle, but did not explain the change at the time.[7] this is the only reference i’ve found referring to an emerald green dragon….Emerald is signifigant in regard to Arya being the next rider.

has anyone read ERAGON AND ELDEST?? Brom’s last words to eragon were: “her name was Saphira.” he was referring to his dragon. Read the first book again robbo. This is too much. How can you even waste your time trying to predict things when you don’t even know what happened in the first two books? The series is called: INHERITANCE for a reason. The entire story works because of family ties much like star wars, lord of the rings etc., etc. The fact is Brom was Eragon’s father, his dragon was named Saphira, and Eragon’s dragon inherited the name just like Eragon inherited the old fight with Morzan through Murtagh. Some things we will not know until the next books come out because they will be invented fresh by CP. Other things however we can definitely know for sure by deductive reasoning and ruling out all other possibilities based on the facts given.

3.Eragon might possibly learn the name of the ancient language himself because Brom had told him that it would give him power over all other magic users.
4.I have no clue who the god hes going to meet his but I’m going to take a stab at it and say the dwarf god Helzvog or something.

So many speculations, some of them good, some of them ridiculous but probable, and some of them making readers wonder, “Why ever waste your time posting that shit?” XD
I agree to Brom being Eragon’s father.
But I disagree with everyone saying the mere WORD Brisingr is Eragon’s true name, or the name of the ancient language, as other’s have said before, and the reasons why those aren’t even possible are obvious.
I think Brisingr however will be associated with a degree of mastery Eragon gains over it. It could also be associated with the weapon underneath the Menoa Tree.
I also think that Arya will NOT be the new rider, but if CP is crazy enough, it’s possible, it would just be a big letdown, eh?
Overall, no one is right until the book is released, but we can all dream, right?
Most of the speculations here are probably correct though, good observations ^__^
My dream: Angela is the new Rider. :P I know, it won’t happen, but at first, seeing as how Angela is created after CP’s sister, maybe sentimental value is there, or maybe she was a past rider? If only Angela had been a bit younger them maybe. Still it’s fine 2 think about stuff like that.Makes it interesting. After all do any of us really know what Christopher Paolini is thinking? NOPE. Another one of my loose thoughts (sorry) what do you think about one of the elves that Arya traveled with when couriering the egg begin her partner or perhaps brother. I think this fits.
When one of the Guard with Arya was struck down that was when she hesitated, looking like she wanted to go back.
When telling Eragon about the Guards she wouldn’t talk about one of them-Faolin
SHe has a fairth of a younger looking elf in her room. Maybe it is a fairth of him.
If it was her partner it would explain why she is so cold and harsh when dealing with Eragon’s love.
    Again loose thoughts

    Morgan Says:

    My opinion is…

Arya will (or is, I acknowledge that maybe the green egg has hatched, but I don’t think so) be the third egg’s rider. She is the most probable answer; I’ll admit it’s predictable. She’s already capable of being a rider once her dragon matures, and she’s female, and her magic’s green. Among other reasons.

Oromis and Glaedr will die, at the hands of Murtagh. That’s the big death, and their current purpose is over. They may still have a part to play though, but I doubt it.

The third egg (if not hatched) is at Helgrind, as is the Vault of Souls. Sheer simplicity, really.

Roran will be the king of the human state. It’s not going to happen to anyone immortal, and I think Nasuada will die in the final battle at Urubaen.

Orik will be king of the dwarves. Either him or the “Laughing Enemy”. Orik IS the heir to Durgrimst Ingeitum, so he has a shot at it either way.

Either: a) Islanzadi will remain queen of the elves OR b) she somehow dies or abdicates and another elf (NOT Arya) becomes ruler, maybe Vanir.

Saphira will fix Isidar Mithrim. Just because I feel sorry for the dwarves :P. I don’t think this for any other reason.

Brom is Eragon’s father. Morzan is too Star Wars-y for my taste, not that there’s anything wrong with Star Wars. But look at Blagden’s riddle for this, and I think Murtagh THOUGHT he spoke the facts when he said Eragon was Morzan’s son, that he was speaking his personal truth. OFF TOPIC: My definition of truth is that truth is an individual belief. As in, fact is not always someone’s truth, but belief always is. As in, what you believe is the truth, but it is not necessarily fact.

The “Laughing Enemy” is either: a) One of the spirits who possessed Durza OR b) The durgrimst of Az Sweldn Rak Anhuin. Just a hunch.

The weapon under the Menoa is either: a) Eragon I’s sword (whatever colour), named Brisingr, buried under the Menoa. b) Brom’s sword, in the same place as Eragon I’s sword might be. c) A blue sword held by the elves until the time is right, or something like that. OR (I believe more likely) d) the two other two swords are a green one for Arya, and a blue one for Eragon, and Eragon’s (or both) are held by the descendants of the elf-woman who became the Menoa tree (What a sad story, that one!).

The seven words Brom gave Eragon will bind (or stop it from roasting him, or something) the power with the Vault of Souls. Or it will kick Galbatorix’s hide into next Wrydfell. I think it will have something to do with the Vault though..

Eragon’s romance is Arya. She will grow to like him if she’s rider of the third dragon, and Saphira mates with the green dragon. Nasuada is the only other woman of (possible) royal blood old enough to match him, and she’s mortal. Don’t mention Katrina, she’s also mortal, and non-royal without a large stretch of the imagination.

The God is not a god. It is Eragon I, or Vrael, or Korgan (the dwarf who found Farthen Dur), or the Grey Folk, or some other figure of great (and I mean GREAT) power/historical significance. I don’t know what will happen either, but it WILL be cool.

Oromis could be Galbatorix’s father. Hope not, he’s too classy for that.

I have missed some theories, but I can’t remember them.

The dream of the man and woman leaving Alagaesia is pretty self explanatory if you use my theories (“my” as in “I didn’t come up with it but I believe it”) though, if you consider Eragon must leave, and Arya is his “passionate romance”, and a rider.

As far as I’m aware, none of these contradict each other, and make sense. What do you guys think?

I’m wondering about Nasuada’s past. It said that in book 3 more would be reveal of it but i really, really don’t want it to be her Eragon loves. In Angela’s prediction it said that she didn’t know if his romance would be for good or ill so maybe it’s already been. Like as in how he was in love with Arya though i hope that was not it. As for Arya herself i think that she is really cold. But maybe theres a reason (there should be) One character i can’t stand is Orrin, i agree with you there Robbo. Who in their right mind would let him be king? It’s a wonder Surda hasn’t already fallen.
P.S sorry my comments are all really late at night but where i live the time difference sort of affects it. But i would like to hear more opinions
Everyone’s theories are so awesome! So glad i found this website!

  110. 110
    harry Says:

perhaps eragon gains some kind of mastery of fire and when he and saphira go to repair isidar mithrim she uses her dragon fire and then he controls it with magic to get into all of the little cracks or whatever to weld it back together like new. would be kinda cool if they also did something else extra to it like some kind of dragon marking or something to say that they fixed it and made it better

  111. 111
    Harry Says:

a few people have mentioned that they think arya and faolin were closer than just friends and I just happened to read a part of eldest that would strongly support that. When arya is showing eragon tialdari hall eragon asks which is her favorite and she shows him a black flower with blue insides and says that faolin created it especially for her a few years before.

I didnt really think that they were that close before but after reading that passage of the book it seems that they were quite close

  112. 112
    terrapin19 Says:

It seems very obvious to me and I think a few others of you that Arya and Faolin must have been lovers. Hence the coldness towards Eragon; plus, she’s committed herself to her people and she knows they need Eragon at his best (not wrapped up with her).
I could be way off point here, but I like to think Arya is already a rider. Green dragon=green magic. Imagine the weight of Saphira, the Isdar Mithrim, and herself, and then think how much energy it took to lower them to the ground.
I’m still not sure about the weapon under the menoa tree, but I like some of the theories posted. I think more than likely, Eragon will find Brom’s broken sword, and i will be mended by Rhunnon. I think her vow was not to MAKE weapons of death, but said nothing about REPAIRING them.
As for the god, Helzvog makes the most sense to me as (if i recall correctly) He and his brother created dragons. more of a hunch than a provable theory.
I’m really fascinated by the possibility of Oromis and Gallbatorix being related somehow. Father/Son? It could be that knowlege that is crippling Oromis. Or, another thought, what if Oromis is the father of brom and morzan making them brothers, and half-elf. Sort of like the sons of elrond in lord of the rings.

Ok, let me add in my ediocy, the books said that eragon will never step foot in alegasea ever again, am i correct? couldnt he live in the former home of the riders, and fly over alegasea endlessly on saphira, landing only to rest and eat. Also it is unlikely that Arya would become the new rider, although if she did, maybe eragon and saphira could end up with a happily ever after;) Also concerning this eledged god eragon will meet, maybe he is hilucinating, maybe he dies, and is sent back from the void with the power to unlock the vault of soals and utterly destroy galbatorix?

    Raliah Says:

I personally am still not sure about Murtagh’s fate-whether he will or will not be able to be freed of Galbatorix’s fate. I really want him to be free because for one thing he is not truly evil. The ancient language is, after all binding. But unfortunately i don’t think he ever will be. However i do think that there was, or could have been something going on between Murtagh and Nasuada. It would have made a great twist. After all did Nasuada really have a reason to be spending that time in Murtagh’s room? Not to mention that I think that Galbatorix does not understand love and perhaps through that there is a way for Nasuada to help or release Murtagh and Thorn through Eragon and Saphira as a channel. But that is only a hope and not a belief sadly. Let me know if you agree or not-and why. I enjoy reading these

    Raliah Says:

Just to add a bit more i don’t think personally that Arya has hatched the green dragon egg in secret. She is devoted to her people so why would she keep it a secret and risk Eragon who is so important. The strength of two dragons is far mmore than the strength of one. And half the risk of one dying. Plus Murtagh said that the last dragon egg in the world is male-how could he know that if Jeod or Arya had managed to steal it because he must have seen it himself to know. Plus wouldn’t Galbatorix have presented him to both to increase the chance of one hatching. Perhaps the egg was a wild one but that does not mean it necesarrily does or doesn’t have to be alive. It’s the author keeping us guessing.

also i think that the weapon under the menoa tree is a sword made by the elf person, because she seemed like part of her wanted to when eragon was talking to her, and then she was ashamed of herself and buried it. its possible, but i like the idea of it being brom’s sword

  123. 123
    Corin Says:

Ok I would just like to remind people that broms sword probably wont be found in pieces under the meoa tree because doesnt it say in like both of the books that the riders swords never dull or break? As for the female rider it probably isnt Arya because that is way too obvious,if anything its more than likely Elva because Saphira marked her forehead with the gedwey ignasia. And the idea that a green egg hatched because eragon stepped on an eggshell isa bit far fetched. The idea that the last egg is hidden at helgrind doesnt seem too believable either.Jeod said not even the ra’zac or the lethrblaka could compete with a rider in open combat so galbatorix would obv have the last egg in a safer place than that..anyway these are just my ideas so :)

    Iroc Says:

Here is one of my ideas regaurding the Gem-Rose that Arya broke in book one. Ormis said that gemstones can be used to transfer energy into and use at a later time. To me it seems that the gem will contain a huge amount of power since it is a gem and was once the floor of the RIDERS room.

    Raliah Says:

    To Terrapin19:
In answering to your question, i think that perhaps when Eragon is caught by the Ra’zac @ Hellgrind (as said so in the released chapter) that maybe Hellgrind is the vault of souls. And when caught Eragon has some sort of enlightening about it in a strange way or something like that and speaks his name. That opens the vault of souls and inside is some sort of power (the theories grow wide here) and that through that power Eragon is able to kill them. My best hope is that they burn and fall off Hellgrind. Or that if the souls are in there take them and their parents. The reason i believe that here is power in there is because CP said that after storming Hellgrind he felt that Eragon needed to make a sort of a journey as it was fitting to his character and that is why the fourth book was added. Perhaps it’s to grow in power. He could return to the elves of course-i don’t know.

    terrapin19 Says:

    to raliah,
i’ve thought about helgrind a good bit, and i concede that it must be signifigant in some way other than just the razac. what that signifigance is though, i’m not sure. We know about the vault of souls, and it seems that the razac and their parents are almost perfect guardians, and isn’t called death’s gates? That would seem to fit into it holding or actually being the supposed vault. Isn’t it possible that the true name of helgrind is Kuthien? It all makes sense to me, of course it’s only one possibility.

  134. 134
    terrapin19 Says:

and about the movie, everyone with any taste knows it was shite. At least i read in an interview with CP that he had very little say in the making of the film. He asked that an unknown actor played the role of Eragon, and i think that was it. In the end FOX films had final say in everything. Since they now own the film rights, and turnout was very low, I don’t expect to see a remake or a sequel within twenty years or so. If all of you have kids one day and turn them on to it along with several million other people, they might remake the film in a fantastic way. Otherwise, Eragon will just fade into literary history like so many others.

  135. 135
    terrapin19 Says:

TO SMART GUY: in eldest Rhunnon says “he came and destroyed them all” and something like: “i thought only four examples of my work still existed” Im pretty sure most of the swords were destroyed with magic either by galbo or morzo

  136. 136
    smart guy Says:

thats a good point thank you. i was just thinking about how galbo keeps getting stronger. in some book or something i think that there is something like everytime this guy killes someone in a certain way he gains all of their power, maybe he is doing something like that? or leeching off shruikan… also wouldn’t it be interesting if saphira falls in love with shruikan when he is released from galbo’s magic? that would leave eragon to pursue arya because she probably wont be a rider. then again CP might have said we wont be expecting who the next rider is BECAUSE its arya, to throw people off so NOW they arn’t expecting it

Does anyone have any comments about who they think is pregnant in Brisingr?
CP released the last spoiler today and I want to know what y ‘all think. Personally I think that it is Katrina.

  139. 139
    terrapin19 Says:

well, i’m sure it’s arya as well. there’s too many clues pointing to her, i know not everybody agrees with that, and it’s been discussed to no end.
As far as galbo taking power from everyone he kills, that is a distinct possibility. It’s not very original-i think of Sylar from HEROES, Lord Asriel from Pullman’s HIS DARK MATERIALS just to name a couple. Towards the end of ELDEST it mentions the “many voices” inside Murtagh’s mind, and the dark swirling mass behind his eyes. The way that it was described reminded me of the description of Durza dying. It could be that galbo is “conscripting” the spirits of people he kills. The main problem i see with this theory is that glaeder told eragon and saphira that the soul depends on the body, and it departs upon death. If that is true, then I don’t think it is possible that he is somehow taking their souls in order to gain power.
Just a wild thought here, but what if helgrind is a place where galbo imprisons people in order to channel energy to himself? It would make a little sense in that only the raazac or a rider could reach it and, it has magical protection.

  140. 140
    terrapin19 Says:

I think (and this is just my first impulse) it is most likely Saphira that becomes pregnant. I feel like CP leads the reader to think it’s Katrina i.e. her sneaking into his bed, and a big blank space before she gets kidnapped.
I’m not trying to be a sexist or anything but they definitely hooked up that night or else he would never be so intent on getting her back. Maybe I’m wrong man what do you all think?

  141. 141
    Raliah Says:

    To Terrapin:
Don’t worry, we’re not going to get pissed coz you said that but you’re probably right. Still, i think that as well as sleeping with Katrina, Roran actually did care. Katrina was all Roran had at that point what with Garrow Dying.
The reason i think that Saphira being pregnant is likely is because if Katrina was pregnant wouldn’t they have seen in when they scryed her? It’s been months and with the way Roran was staring at her he surely would have noticed.
Comments on this are appreciated and im going to have to check that spoiler coz it’s all new to me!
Ps: I can’t get over the fact that some of you are from America! That is so cool!

  142. 142
    Raliah Says:

Also that whole soul thing fits. If Hellgrind is in fact the vault of souls then that is where Galbatorix gets his power and that is why the Ra’zac are guarding it there. It’s on his command. And you know as he grows it could be from the servants that are sent there. The Ra’zac actually capture them and when Galbatorix does his work with them they eat them coz’ they don’t need their bodies anymore (that’s totally gross by the way!) And the souls are caught and stored in some way so that Galbatorix can leech of them.

If whoever it is becomes pregnant in the third book then i think that it could be Saphira. So far i’ve looked over a couple of other sites and these have been suggested, though i don’t think any of them fit. Thought i’d list them for discussion later though.
Nasuada, pregnant to Murtagh (she spent all that time in his room)
Arya (thought to be pregant to Faolin).
(i don’t think that this is possible though)
    Arya (sleeps with Eragon)
Saphira (Gladr eventually agrees for the good of the race)
(i don’t like that one either)
    Saphira (Thorn) ???
Katrina (Roran, though one stupid person said she sleeps with Eragon)

i like the idea of helgrind being involved… you know how glaedr was explaining why a dragon ususally dies when the rider does and vice versa? he said that it is their natural reaction to shelter their souls in your own body. maybe galbatorix found a way to do that and made people swear in the ancient language to give him their souls when they die then feeds them 2 the ra zac
